It started at the dining room table.
Blue Mitchell is the pen name of James Mitchell — author, grandfather and the "Papa Blue" in every story. These books grew out of weekly homework sessions with his grandchildren, where the best lessons came from asking questions, telling stories and never giving up on a tricky problem.
The porch, the owl and the kids in the pictures are drawn from real family life. The mission is simple: help every child believe they can figure things out.
